The Marathon Des Sables is described as one of the most gruelling foot races on earth . It takes place in the (Morrocan) Sahara Desert lasting a total of seven days running a total of 141 miles broken down into 7 different stages.
  • Stage 1: 18 miles
  • Stage 2: 19 miles
  • Stage 3: 22 miles
  • Stage 4: 50 miles
  • Stage 5: rest day
  • Stage 6: 26 miles
  • Stage 7: 06 miles
The MDS is run over different types of terrain consisting of mainly Stony ground with around 30 % to 40% sand dunes. Runners face temperatures of 100 - 120 degrees fahrenheit. All this while carrying a pack weighing around 21 lbs with all your food, sleeping bag, medical kit and water.
